Walnusskuchen

Since I discovered stewed apples in my fridge, and I always want to put leftovers to good use, my thoughts flashed to my favourite tart recipe … here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

400g flour

200g butter

100g sugar

Mix the sugar with the flour, then add butter in flakes, knead with cold hands until the dough is mixed in the bowl. Form the dough into a ball and place it in the refrigerator in a plastic wrap for about 15 minutes. Separate 1/3 of the dough (for sprinkles). Separate 1/3 from the rest and make a string of dough out of it; set it aside. Lay the rest into a springform pan greased with butter (flatten by hand from the inside out to the edge). Place the dough string along the inside of the edge, and press upwards about 2 cm. Fill the dough with apple compote. Crumble on the remaining dough as sprinkles and spread generously over the tart. Caramelize with about 150 to 250g of peeled walnuts and 3-4 tablespoons of honey, spread over the sprinkles. Bake in a preheated oven (180° C) on the middle rack for about 45 minutes. Serve it with beautiful autumn motif napkins from the company “IHR”, and now the autumn feeling is complete.
